Serving up all kinds of jewelspiration goals via her Insta account (@laurencarsuo_)  it’s an absolute no brainer why StyleCaster’s site director Lauren Carsuo is a Magpie Muse.

Here we talk to the former editor at Allure & Refinery 29 ( what a CV!) about her Grandmother’s diamonds, style inspirations and her signature look.

How would you describe your jewellery style ?

I like to stack mostly delicate jewelry—rings, earrings, necklaces—with the occasional statement piece littered in. It’s elevated simplicity, I’d say.

Which item in your wardrobe best personifies you and why?

I love my nameplate that my friend Kristy, the designer being Drift/Riot, made me a few months ago. It’s simple, delicate, and understated—as is much of my wardrobe. I wear mostly white, black, and grey, though I’ve branched out to include jeans and camel in the past few months. Most pieces in my closet are compatible with just about every other piece, which is essential when you consistently underestimate how much time it’ll take you to get ready for, like I do.

Which Instagram accounts are your daily go tos for inspiration?

I love @gabriellabjersland for styling ideas; @maggieontherocks for its simplicity; and @thefrankieshop for discovering new brands + designers.

Which 4 pieces of jewellery should be a staple in all women’s jewellery boxes?

It completely depends on the woman! I won’t be caught dead without my stack of rings, but one of my best friends likes to layer on delicate necklaces. Maybe one woman’s four gold hoops is another woman’s quartet of bling-y diamond rings. But I do believe a woman should invest in whichever staples she gravitates toward.

Who would you like trade jewellery boxes with and why ?

My mom! She has so, so many great pieces .  I designed this ring incorporating my grandmother’s diamonds to match the ring my dad gave my mom for their 10th anniversary) but she wears them every day.

What is the best style advice you’ve ever been given ?

If you don’t feel comfortable in whatever you’re wearing, you won’t look comfortable—and that’s worse than looking bad.
